Yesterday we remembered the people who gave up their lives for our freedom.
These people were just like us in many ways. They lived lives and dreamed dreams. Yet they endured hardship and gave up the rest of their days so that we can live ours…hopefully pursuing the lives God intends for us.
It’s good to set aside a day like this. It’s good to visit cemeteries and memorials as a sign of respect. It’s good to have these singular points of remembrance.
Today, tomorrow, and in the days following, let us continue to remember as we shrug off apathy that comes from routine. We have rights that were purchased at great price. Let’s honor through action the things these men and women protected.
